LMAO I just remembered when I was first soldering like the very first time I was? trying it out I watched a vid of some guy doing it and he never told us what the melted stuff on the soldering iron and so I thought it was melted hot glue gun refills, Oh god my controller I was testing now has a big bashy mess around the leds And I ended up breaking one led slot. If only I knew it was melted solder.... Aww well everything has a first time XD

- You need to move ...
- You need to move back and forth between the two points when the soldering iron is hot. You can tell it is hot enough when the solder melts instantly. It takes about 2-4 minutes for the iron to reach the right temp. Then move back and forth so the solder you put on touches each side and melts it. With the combination and light pressure, the old LED will eventually slide off. Do not force it off otherwise you will? end up ripping off the old LED with the contact point that you need

i put some sotter ...

Radio Shack sells it. Or if you order? from us, ask us for some solder when you check out.

ok i have 1 ...
ok i have 1 question i have a soldering iorn 15 watts but how do i? get solder

It should be more ...
It should be more than fine, the risk with using more than 15w is if you hold the point too long, (2 seconds -ish) you might start burning the board or other issues. I have heard that older soldering irons don't heat up enough and then people get frustrated and end up ripping the LEDs off with too much force. The LED should literally "float" off, just cover the existing contact points with solder, move back and forth to keep them both hot, and? it will float off easily.

Ok, thankyou. I ...
Ok, thankyou. I have a 25w soldering iron.? Would that be fine?

_try a newer 15w ...
_try a newer 15w soldering iron and giving it about 5-10 minutes to heat up. Once at the right temp, and with enough solder, the back and forth motion should ease the LEDs off. putting them back on requires just as much patience. Its not hard, but don't expect it to just snap in place. Practice on? something old first. Good Luck

I just tried this ...
I just tried this myself...first time ever? soldering, and i just failed. lol. I wouldnt recommend this for first timers. =[
